2003 (Piligrim (SU) x Baigora (SU))
Her sire Piligrim (SU) (Gips x Postup) raced in Russia for 3 years gaining 3 x Firsts, 4 x Seconds and 2 x Thirds from 14 starts. He was Champion Stallion at the International Show in Munster, Germany and Champion Stallion at the Russian Show in Pyatigorsk. Both Piligrim and his sire Gips are known for producing very typey offspring with excellent well-set necks and fantastic movement.
Her dam, Baigora (Gusar x Bulon) is a daughter of the very good Menes son Gusar who came out of the best racing/performance line in Russia -– the S line.
In 2006 Basra was beautifully produced and shown by Andrew Tonge and Jo Clarke of Arabian Training Centre.
Basra was Reserve Junior Champion at the Midlands Spring Show but the highlight of the year was winning the Senior Liberty Class at the UK International Show at Towerlands
Quote “"Time for the senior liberty where Basra (Piligrim x Baigora) owned by Judith Evans returned to the ring to the sound of Let Me Entertain You, which she certainly did! With handler Andrew Tonge, it was probably one of the best displays of liberty ever seen; the more the crowd cheered, the higher the elevation when Basra trotted and she hardly ever broke into canter. Needless to say she was the proud winner of the class."” - Lulu Jenkins.
